Tall ships in Duluth, MN

While in Duluth in July, we saw the tall ships sail in. Jarad's parents' friends took us out on the their sailboat to see the ships. They were amazing, especially out on the open water of Lake Superior! They looked like pirate ships that you see in the movies. We saw 8 tall ships in total. We anticipated a 5 to 6 hour sailing trip (which was about right), so we decided to get a babysitter for Avalon since we didn't think she'd like being confined on a boat for that long. It turned out to be a great decision, because she had a blast with the babysitter! Archer did make the trip with us and for the most part he enjoyed the ride!

Here are some pics of us with the tall ships!

Some pics on the sail boat.

Jerry got him to sleep while holding him as shown in the pic below, and then..

Archer took a long nap in his car seat below deck.

After his nap, he still got to see some of the tall ships too!

There were tons of other small boats in the water as well to see the ships. So after the tall ships went under the draw bridge into the harbor, all of the smaller sail boats came in. It looked pretty cool!

Avalon had a great time with the babysitter while we were gone. They went outside and counted apples. Here's a pic of Mummi and Avalon playing with her sticker book after we returned home.
