As You Wish Premiere - Yellin and Hype Girl!

The day has finally arrived!  As You Wish premieres on YouTube on Friday June 26th at 10 PM central time.

Avie has been in a theater program in Canada called Theatrix and they have been working on the play "As You Wish" since January that went virtual in March.  The play premiered on YouTube on Friday night.  It was a really fun show to watch!  The director did some really cool things with the camera angles for the dualing scenes and also to make it look like items were being passed between characters.  All the kids in the show are between the ages of 6 and 13.  It is an original musical base on The Princess Bride by William Goldman.  The director Lauren Hillman wrote the script and the the lyrics to the songs.

Avie had so much fun working with Lauren and the other kids on this show!  They started back in January and it was going to be a live show premiering in June, but when COVID-19 hit everything changed.  Jarad was recalled back to the United States in mid-March and we thought avie would have to withdraw from the show.  But then, Lauren decided to move the show online.  The kids met over Zoom once or twice a week and it was decided to film the show instead.  I can't even imagine all the work that must have went into this show from Lauren and the others helping her out.

Check out Avie's filming area here:

We were going to try to stay awake to watch it Friday evening, but we planned to go to Itasca State Park early Saturday morning so we decided it would not be a good idea to stay up late.  So we waited and watched it Saturday evening instead.

What a great show!  We loved it!  Avie did a really great job!  We are so proud of her hard work!  She also did a great job remembering her zoom rehearsals and practicing her singing dancing and her lines on her own!

Check out the show here!  Move it!  And Enjoy!

PS. our friends Keri, Stephen, Elodie and Ember actually watch the show on Friday evenig and sent an email to us afterwards saying we should tell Avie to "Move It! (and Congrats)!"

We didn't know why he said it until after we watched the show!  Then, we all laughed!  :)

Some more fun photos in costume:

And Avie's drawings of her characters.  She has been really into drawing with Art for Kids Hub, so she used what she learned to draw her characters.
