It's Jarad's birthday today and we celebrated this past weekend. Camille made a cheesecake (my first cheesecake and it turned out pretty good - thanks to Karen for the great recipe!) As you'll notice there is a hand print in the cheesecake because Avalon got into it while it was chilling in the fridge. Jarad thought this was hilarious and when he started to laugh, Avalon got scared and started to cry...
We also celebrated by checking out a few nearby State beaches. It was a bit chilly but all three beaches were beautiful and each was quite different.
El Capitan was very rocky and had quite a few surfers.
Refugio was a long, flat and sandy beach with palm trees.
Gaviota beach had an old train bridge and a pier.
