Narnia: The Musical

Avie was "Lucy" in Narnia: The Musical through Theatrix.  It is an original musical written by the director, Lauren Hillman, and all the kids in the cast based mostly on "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."  Avie auditioned for the part of Lucy and she got it!  Her performances were the week of Dec. 9-14 at two elementary schools as well as 2 performances for the public on Saturday!  We are so proud of her!  She was amazing!  And she had so much fun!



For the first 4 or 5 weeks, the cast worked on coming up with the dialog for the scenes and the songs.  The cast would work on a scene coming up with their characters and lines during rehearsal and then the director would take the ideas home and use them to write the script.  What a neat opportunity for all these kids!





Avie had one solo "Whole 'Nother World," for which the lyrics were written by the director prior to the auditions.  Avie worked with Aaron (who played Edmund) in writing the lyrics for his solo "Whole 'Nother World Reprise."  So cool that she wrote the words to this song!  And she was recognized in the program as well!

They also toured and performed the musical at two different elementary schools during the week!

She had such a great time that she wanted to sign up for the next production, "As You Wish," an original musical based on The Princess Bride.

Avie was also invited to take part in a TV interview at a local station.  The group watch an actual TV interview being filmed and were taught a little about the interview process and the behind the scenes as well including the cameras and sound.  Then the kids had a chance to interview each other and work the behind the scenes camera and sound.  Here are some pics from the experience!
