Christmas Day Sledding

On Christmas Day, we spent the day at Kaye and Gil's house (Jarad's parents friends). It was a wonderful day with lots of fun events and good company! Thanks to Kaye and Gil for having us!

When we first arrived the sled's were out and Avie already had her own cave. Avie didn't want to go inside, but a couple of other kids did.

Avie actually fell asleep in the car about 5 minutes before we arrived, but once in the house she was awake again and didn't seem ready for a nap. So we bundled up and headed out for some sledding.

Avie jumped on the sled with Jarad and they headed down the hill. This was no ordinary hill. It was down the driveway of their house, which is out in the country. So the sledding hill is probably a half a mile long.

And here's another kid with her dad. Libby and Jerry.

We weren't too sure if Avie would like it, but as it turns out, she loved it! She immediately asked to go again. But she had to wait for the others to arrive in order to catch a lift back up to the top of the hill. Yep, you heard that right. We actually took a car back up to the top. Awesome!

The next ride down was with Mommy. Hands up!

Avie always rode with one of us down the hill, but here is a pic at the bottom. She is still loving it.

Daddy even took her for a little ride in the sled while we waited for the others.

Here come the others....

Kaye and Gil

Jerry

Libby and Chris - no..this pic is not posed!

Once we got back up to the house, Kaye and Avie tried out a couple different sleds. Avie wanted the orange one, so Kaye took the little one.

There, this one is more Avie size.

Another workout for Daddy.
Archer fell asleep on the drive over and was inside sleeping during this event. Bonnie also stayed back to watch Archer for us. Thanks Bonnie!

Sledding was the biggest adventure of the day, but we also had lots of fun the rest of the day as well. Stay tuned for more fun events in an upcoming post.

Great job of capturing the joy of the luge run and the fun of the day! We're happy to see that joy continue on in the next generation of young-uns! Our kids grew up on that driveway and were always a bit upset if someone got stuck in their car to the point where we had to salt and sand to get them out because, "It ruins the sliding, Dad!" Priorities! We were pleased to meet your lovely family and share a few runs with you all. Hope to see you out there again soon! Enjoy! Gail (Gil and Kaye's neighbor ~ Bonnie gave us the link to your lovely blog!) P.S. I think we're ALL still young when we're flying down that hill on a cheap, plastic sled! :-)
