Easter Egg Hunt

Avalon participated in her first Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3rd. We currently live in Family Student Housing at UCSB and they put on an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids. They "hid" a bunch of eggs in the grass for each age group and then let the kids find them. Avalon's group was 3 and under, which was great since it gave her a good opportunity to find eggs without the older kids snatching them all up. Avalon wanted to start the hunt early (but we didn't let her) and she also decided to enter from the side, which ended up being a great strategy as she was able to get to lots of eggs before the other kids made it that far. Here's some pics from the egg hunt.

Avalon would find an egg,

pick it up,

bring it back to her basket,

and then put it in the basket.

Her total loot at the end of the hunt. (We brought Ernie, so that wasn't part of the hunt).

Once she gathered all her eggs, she liked taking them out of the basket and then putting them back in, until...

Libby showed her how to open them up. Of course, she didn't realize that the contents were edible. Whew!

The spectators during the hunt.

The photography.

She also found a special egg that won her a prize of an Easter bunny, which she loved.

We also saw a real bunny on our walk home.
