Story-time and books, books, books!!

Avalon loves reading books! We probably read her at least 20 books a day. And recently, she has also become really interested in story-time at our classes. We attend two classes a week through the Santa Barbara city college, which is mostly playing with other kids, singing and story-time. There are classes every day of the week at the Family Student Housing community center right outside our door, so sometimes we pop in on the other classes too.

This picture was taken at the end of January when Avalon first became interested in story-time. It helped that they were reading one of her favorite books. At this point, they didn't ask the kids to sit down.

This picture taken at the beginning of March when they always ask the kids to sit down for story-time and she is really good at complying with this request.

And this was taken in mid-March when Avalon was sitting in on a class for kids that are a bit older than her.

This picture was taken in the middle of April.

And this picture was just taken this week.

We always read books to her before her nap and before bed-time. We let Avalon pick the books that we read, so here's picture of her selecting a book before her nap. Usually this process ends up with books all over the floor of her room.

She also likes to read books on her own. Now I even find her pointing out items on the page and saying the words and phrases that she knows. Since we read most of her books over and over and over again, she learns tons of new words through reading books.

She also likes to ask everyone to read her books, so I've included a bunch of pictures of family and friends reading to her.

Daddy - "Dyda"

Mommy - "Mimi"

Mummi (Grandma Niemi) - "Mumu"

Grandma (Moeckel) - "Mama"
