Playing catch and kicking the ball

Below is a recent video we took of Avalon throwing the ball with her slightly older friend Hanna (who is 3 years old). Avalon can now say Hanna's name as well, which is pretty fun. Whenever we watch this video together, Avalon says "Hanna,Hanna." Avalon is still working on the catching part, but it is really fun to see her playing with other kids and understanding the concept of throwing the ball back and forth to each other.


For those of you who were wondering, we are also teaching Avalon soccer skills as well. Avalon has been able to kick the ball since she was about 12 months old. She always likes to pick the ball up first and then place it in front of her RIGHT foot to kick it, as you'll see in the video below taken last month. It is really cute! Jarad is always attempting to put the ball in front of her left foot, but he's had no success thus far. We did also just buy her an "Avalon-sized" soccer ball as well.
