Grandpa visits!

Well Jarad came back in town just in time to drive his mom to the airport. The interviewing schedule allowed him 5 whole days at home before he had to take off again. Coincidentally (or not) this was the same day Grandpa Hugo flew into town. Although he was sick for the first few days, he recouped and helped Camille out while Jarad was out of town for the following week. We would definitely like to thank Hugo for all the help around the house, in particular the cleaning that we have avoided for months. Thanks Hugo!!

Mummi visits!

For those who don't know, now is interviewing season for academics. So Jarad is off every week for 2-5 days running around having scrumptious meals with expensive wines and staying at immaculate hotels (one even had a goldfish in the room just to keep you company) while Camille is working 40 hours/week even though she is on an 80% schedule and taking care of Avalon at night. Deciding this situation, however brief, wasn't exactly equitable, we asked our parents if they were interested in visiting and helping out. So, for two weeks, Jarad's mom was in town. In addition to playing with Avalon, Bonnie really helped out getting Avalon to sleep through the night. Thanks to her help, we are usually able to have free time from 8pm until 7am. Her help was tremendous. So thank you mom!!

No really, she liked it!

Over Christmas we decided to introduce Avalon to solid foods. This is a picture taken after her first spoonful of bananas. If she knew what poison was, I'm sure she thought this was it. Now, of course, she loves bananas. She also eats rice cereal and avocados. We've been trying to introduce sweet potatoes, which our doc said most children love, but so far no luck.

Jumperoo!

Avalon came with us to MN over the holidays for two weeks. During our time in MN, Avalon started to bounce/jump when we were holding her and was very excited about this new activity. For Christmas, she received a Jumperoo from her Aunt Libby. Jarad put it together when we got back to NC and Avalon loves it, as is apparent in this video!
