Mummi and Ukki visit

Jarad's parents came to visit us for two weeks after Archer arrived. By chance (since we didn't know exactly when Archer would arrive), they arrived the day after we returned from the hospital, which was the same time that Camille's parents arrived in NC after Avalon was born. Avalon was exactly one week late and Archer was exactly one week early.

Jarad's parents were a tremendous help. They helped us out by playing with Avalon, getting up with her in the morning, changing her diapers, giving her baths, and also with Archer by holding him and changing his diapers. They helped by making the meals, doing the dishes, cleaning the kitchen, watering the garden, picking up toys, etc. The list goes on and on, but you get the idea. Thank you so much for all your help!

Avalon's ABCs

Not only has Avalon been working on her numbers, she's also been learning her ABCs. She can now say the ABCs on her own as you'll see in the video below. She does get hung up on the "L" sometimes, but otherwise knows the whole alphabet. She can also identify many of the letters by sight as well. Good job Avalon!!

When Avalon visited us in the hospital, we asked her if she wanted to hold Archer, but she was not interested. Since we've been home, she has become very interested in holding Archer. Here are some cute pictures that we've captured so far:

Avalon goes for a ride!

Avalon loves watching videos of herself on the computer. She'll come up to Camille and ask say "mommy sit down" and point to the chair and then she'll say "watch videos." When we came across this video, which was taken on April 6th, Avalon could not stop smiling and laughing every time we watched it. And she kept saying "more, more." I have to admit that it is nearly impossible to watch it without smiling! :) Take a minute and see for yourself.

Avalon taking Archer for a walk

When Archer was 1 week old, we went outside to take him for his first walk and Avalon decided she wanted to push him in the stroller. Mummi (Grandma Niemi) showed her how to push the stroller using the basket on the bottom and she was off. She could actually push the stroller quite fast and steer it pretty well too.
