Harry Potter ball

Avalon and Mommy attended their first Yule ball at the Ames Public Library!  Avalon had fun dressing up as Harry Potter and completing the scavenger hunt to find seven horcruxes around the library.  Although, she doesn't know yet what a horcrux is as we are currently reading book 3.



 Her favorite part of the night was trying the poly juice potion, butter beer, and every flavor beans.  She wasn't too excited about the coffee flavor, but was happy to avoid earwax and vomit!  Mommy and Avalon also had fun dancing the night away!

Pinewood Derby- Cub Scouts

Archer joined cub scouts this year and he just competed in his first pinewood derby.  This is where they are given a block of wood and they have to shape it and design a car that they think will be the fastest to run down the ramp.  Daddy and Archer worked on their car all week and it paid off!



Archer had a blast and his car took first place in his den of 1st graders and 2nd place overall in his pack of 1st through 5th graders!  Way to go Archer!
